Simply Engage People
Servinomy. The name and the slogan are inspired by the philosophy of the bistronomy movement of the 1990s: radical simplicity, inclusivity, and human values. Just as bistronomy liberated fine dining by combining quality with simplicity, accessibility, and enjoyment, I believe the service management profession needs a similar movement today.
Too often, organisations respond to challenges by adding more processes, more technology, and more complexity. Yet people do not long for greater complexity. They long for clarity, involvement, meaning, and work that energises rather than exhausts them.
That is why Servinomy is my compass for brutally simplifying and deeply humanising service management.
Servinomy does not exist to criticise the profession or to challenge existing knowledge for the sake of it. On the contrary, I recognise the value of the many models, methods, and frameworks that our profession has developed over the years. However, I also believe that we can become so preoccupied with managing systems, processes, and technology that we lose sight of why they were introduced in the first place.
Servinomy therefore aims to hold up a friendly yet honest mirror. It invites you to rediscover service delivery through its most fundamental purpose: people working together to create value for other people.
This means:
- Reducing complex processes, frameworks, and bureaucracy to their pure essence.
- Genuinely engaging people rather than "managing" them.
- Placing humanity, purpose, and authentic connection at the centre of service delivery.
- Viewing technology as an enabler, not as the starting point.
- Pursuing simplicity without sacrificing quality, effectiveness, or professionalism.
As Albert Einstein famously said:
"Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler."
For Servinomy, this means that simplicity must never become oversimplification. True simplicity is achieved when complexity is reduced to its essence while preserving meaning, quality, and human dignity.
In short:
Not less professionalism.
Not more bureaucracy.
But more simplicity.
More engagement.
More pride, purpose, and enjoyment in the workplace.
Brutally Simple. Deeply Human.

I, Patrick Belmans, am the founder of Servinomy. As a passionate service management professional and enthusiast, I have gained extensive knowledge and experience over the years. For a long time, I was part of the critical but constructive silent minority as I expanded and tested my expertise and beliefs.
I kept seeing the same patterns recurring: more processes, more tooling, more certifications, but not necessarily better service. Servinomy arose from the need to look at the essence again.
Launching Servinomy is my contribution to service management. Now is the time to step out of the shadows and publish my passion for service management.
The future will tell whether Servinomy is here to stay. It's better to be a contributor than a mere critic.
Up with passion!
